Core Web Vitals

Core Web Vitals are three field-measured metrics: Largest Contentful Paint for loading, Interaction to Next Paint for responsiveness, and Cumulative Layout Shift for visual stability.

Thresholds for a good rating are LCP under 2.5 seconds, INP under 200 milliseconds and CLS below 0.1, assessed at the 75th percentile of real user traffic.

They are measured from field data rather than lab tests, so synthetic scores are diagnostic rather than authoritative.
